This is my current job where I work taking calls from people and discussing their energy bills. I have to have very good people skills and a thorough knowledge of gas and electricity calculations. I have to be able to use initiative to figure out if there is more to the story than what the customer is saying, because a lot of the time the customers are very confused. I am responsible for my own time management and target meeting.
Aug 08 - Mar 09 Operations Manager/ Part of Delivery Team, River Island, York
For half of my time here I was in charge of a small team and was responsible for all aspects of delivery: receiving, preparing, storage, and stock replenishment. This meant working early mornings and having a time constraint. The other half of my time I didn’t perform this job as I worked less hours due to university commitments.
Jan 08 - May 08 Bar Staff/ Cocktail Maker, Biltmore Bar and Grill, York
I worked in the kitchen here cleaning and making sure that all equipment was ready for use when needed. I also worked on the bar serving drinks and making complicated cocktails which were all made to the companies high standard. It is a very prestigious bar so good presentation and manners were essential.
